There’s no questioning Andrew Garfield’s “hotness,” on a Hollywood scale. His awards-chatter turn in “The Social Network” and his starring role in a revamped “Spider-Man” have made him one of the industry’s brightest stars.

This morning, that status is being confirmed by a prominent international group.

Garfield is one of five actors selected by the BAFTAs — Britain’s top film honors – as a “rising star,” organizers said Monday.

He’ll compete against Gemma Arterton, Aaron Johnson (“Nowhere Boy,” “Kick-Ass”), Tom Hardy and Emma Stone.

Previous winners of the rising-star award are James McAvoy, Eva Green, Shia LaBeouf, Noel Clarke and Kristen Stewart.

In addition to the “rising star” nominees, BAFTA organizers also announced the shortlist for best foreign film. The titles are: “Biutiful,” “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” “I Am Love,” “Of Gods and Men” and “The Secret in Their Eyes.”
